Spirited Away – ★★★★½

Spirited Away

First rewatch since I saw it when it came out in college. I recalled thinking it was really odd and just ok. Now I think it is really odd (even for Miyazaki) and great.

Not as high up on my Ghibli favorites list as the ones that are pure delight, but definitely one of the most well made and best stories of all their fantastic films.

Lol. But actually a smart move assuming they roll this type of content into whatever HBO Max is consuming.

CNN+, the streaming service that was hyped as one of the most signifiant developments in the history of CNN, will shut down on April 30, just one month after it launched.

I kinda want to sign up now just to say I was one of the 35 people (along with @jsnell@zeppelin.flights) that can tell their grandkids I was a CNN+ subscriber.

Tunic – ★★★★★

Tunic

Amazing game.

Found all the secrets on my own except for the most of the secret treasures and fairies.

Bummed because I messed up and got the good ending first and now can’t get all the achievements. Maybe will go back and do a New Game+ run sometime to get the last two.

I haven’t thought about them in 25+ years but 1991 Studio and Topps Stadium Club baseball cards are so vividly burned into my memory. Stadium Club was for “rich kids” and other than a pack here or there was always just out of reach.

1991 Studio. Tell me your favorite story about one of these players or these cards

Dear Evan Hansen – ★★

Dear Evan Hansen

Some of it worked, some of it really really didn’t.

One of my least favorite songs from the stage production “Sincerely, Me” actually worked really well here. It was just a fun musical-ass musical number. Many of the best songs/moments fall apart as they tried to insert them into the middle of key dramatic moments. They just never got the tone figured out.
