My number one artist in 2024 with 607 minutes and I couldn’t tell you a single one of their song titles. Wednesday Campanella is catchy as heck and since it’s all in Japanese makes great work focus music.
Originally found them via their guest track with Chvrches from a few years ago.
Approximately 1% of these are from 9 year old who discovered she can Shazam from her watch a couple weeks ago.
She especially loves when she’s one of the first 50 people to ever Shazam a song like she has been on a bunch of random Broadway musical deep cuts.
The real Alice of Arlo Guthrie’s ‘Alice’s Restaurant’ dies at 83. A high school favorite amongst my friend group. Will need to play it for the kids on the drive Thursday. RIP Alice.
I feel bad for Alanis Morissette. I’m staring right at the dictionary definition of ironic/irony and I’m still completely unable to explain it properly to my 2nd grader.
Pale Waves at House of Blues tickets acquired. Two tickets for me and my daughter. we’ll see what her opinion/reviews of a $70 general admission show are compared to the $$$$ Taylor Swift arena show her mom took her to.
Now I need to listen to some music from the headliner Pvris, who I’ve never heard of before yesterday. All bands with Vs replacing vowels are gvvd though right?
Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches has a new solo single out.
She’s also doing a solo tour. Definitely different vibe than her music with Chvrches but I like it. Somehow I missed this news back in July.
Chvrches is easily my favorite band of the last decade (maybe ever?) so selfishly this makes me a bit nervous about their future. “Over” just came out 6 months ago and was FANTASTIC so hopefully this has nothing to do with the future of the band.

Chrvrches is pretty much the only new band I’ve stuck with over the last 10+ years. I’ll bounce around on new stuff now and then (and like musical cast recordings) but really their music is only thing I listen to consistently in any context.
