Pretty sure I am indeed human, but it is admittedly pretty hard to tell the difference between a roasted chicken and a stack of croissants.
Gowalla is back from the dead and available on the App Store.
I downloaded the app but couldn’t make it through signup flow. They’ve made the baffling decision to require sharing your entire contacts’ data. There are zero scenarios where I’ll do that. (Pretty ironic “we respect your privacy” note on the same screen.)
My phone’s address book also has virtually no relationship to who I’d use an app like Gowalla with. Am I going to share stickers with my plumber, my grandma, and my kid’s second grade teacher?
New single “Over” by Chvrches is out today on all the various services.
Chrvrches is pretty much the only new band I’ve stuck with over the last 10+ years. I’ll bounce around on new stuff now and then (and like musical cast recordings) but really their music is only thing I listen to consistently in any context.
Maybe someone with too much money heard there was a “Mammoth investment opportunity” and misunderstood.
Seeing the Twitter 3rd party app news, I pulled up Tweetbot this morning for the first time in 3+ days.
I used to open it in every free moment during the day. If this change isn’t a “bug”, it’ll be the final nail that causes me to never use Twitter again. And my life will be better for it.
An Event Apart is shutting down. AEA Austin in 2012 was one of the first big design industry conferences where I didn’t feel like a complete impostor. At least not for the entire time. Ha. I was making plans to attend An Event Apart in DC in 2020 when everything shut down.
I’d love to meet the person at Pfizer who thought Stephen A Smith was the right person to hire to do podcast ads for Covid boosters. (Props to Smith for doing them though.)
